What's Inside Miss Molly's Locket?
Published in Hardcover by Lang Books (12 November, 2000)
Authors: Louise Croft, Sherri Buck Baldwin, and Sherri Buck Baldwin
Average review score:

Delightful story and beautiful illustrations.
I purchased this book for my daughter, a teacher of elementary age children. The story is very touching and illustrates the bond between a teacher and students. It would make a wonderful gift for the child just entering school or for a special teacher!

Beautiful story -- wonderful for a teacher!
This is a wonderfully written story (book is in a protective sleeve) about a teacher who has a "secret" locket around her neck. The children in her class speculate what could be inside of the locket [great to encourage class prediction]. Without giving away the ending, the locket contains all of the things she holds close to her heart... Illustrations are beautiful and creative! Children up to 3rd/4th grade will enjoy. I hightly recommend it as a read-aloud story!

The 25th Century Science Fiction Role Playing Game (Buck Rogers)
Published in Hardcover by TSR Hobbies (July, 1990)

TSR's "Best Attempt" at a Science Fiction Role Playing Game
TSR was the grand-daddy of Role Playing Game companies. Best known for "Dungeons & Dragons," TSR actually developed many other games (some fine, others less than great), but none ever approached the popularity of D&D. Interestingly, TSR had much trouble coming up with a science fiction RPG, and wanted badly to emulate the success of the "Traveller" RPG at rival company GDW. In 1990, they bought the license to the "Buck Rogers" franchise, and developed a game around it. The game never received a huge audience, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. In addition to game supplements, they published Buck Rogers novels, comics, and even a board game. (See my "Amazon List" of products) It's more Science Fantasy (like Star Wars) than Sci-Fi to my taste, but I sure admire the love and effort put into the game system. ....The basic set as listed here should include the following books and accessories: "Characters & Combat," "The World Book," "The Technology Book," 4 maps, measuring device, 24 large cards, die-cut counters, and a ref's screen.

Adventures of Buck Felner, The

Laughing out loud til it hurts!
Absolutely the funniest book I've read in recent years! I found myself laughing out loud for just about every chapter of it, and had to stop reading it during lunch one day because other people in the restaurant were staring at me (I mean, I'm cute and all, but let's be realistic...). This is a collection of articles by a fictitious teenager named "Buck Felner" (John McPherson), and the stories are hilarious! I work with teenagers, but I've found many laughable moments from my own high school years reading this. Try your best to find a copy! You'll definitely be glad you did!

Angeles En Misiones Especiales / Angels on Assignment

A Sobering Literary Experience
Pastor Buck's experiences as told in this book have truly opened my heart even more to Christ! The most prevalent message throughout is just how much Jesus loves us all. We don't have to be Ministers, TV Evangelists, or even the Pope to receive the love of Christ or his graces. It is ours for the asking, but we must ask! Having personally felt the presence of an Angel before, Pastor Buck's accounts of his visitations are clear and exciting. I kept on reading and reading, I could not put this book down. This book is about the two way street of love, faith, and commitment. Read it now and have it change your life forever!

Angry Wife
Published in Paperback by Pocket Books (June, 1977)
Author: Pearl S. Buck

Angry Wife
This little known book from Pearl S Buck is a gem. I liked the book better than "Good Earth".When ever you read Pearl Buck you expect a grim picture but this book is of different style. With due respect to Late Mrs Buck her books in China and Korea are full with details but lack cultural integrity but this is world apart. She is in her home grounds and she knows the life style as the palm of her hand. It is very inspiring for people who want to follow their heart and not get bogged down by the pressures and biasness of the society. Its for people who do not get carried away by dot.com stocks and have no regrets for it. There is a fantastic description of life in Southern ranches - their prejudices, vanities. It also shows the supreme sacrifice of some people for their belief in equality of human life and love for knowledge.

Bass Fishing in North Carolina
Published in Paperback by Down Home Pr (April, 1999)
Author: Buck Paysour
Average review score:

The definitive North Carolina angler's guide.
Buck Paysour has fished North Carolina's waters from more than fifty years and in Bass Fishing In North Carolina draws upon his considerable experience and expertise to share techniques and "insider" information on catching the elusive largemouth and smallmouth bass. In addition to his own techniques, Buck shares his interviews with many of the state's best bass fishermen and professional guides. Any dedicated angler seeking to fish the waters of North Carolina and wanting to know where the fish are to be found, where to put their boat, which lures produce the most successful results would do well to begin by a thorough reading of Buck Paysour's superb compendium of information and advice, Bass Fishing In North Carolina. Also highly recommended for the angler's bookshelf is Buck Paysour's earlier book, Fly Fishing In North Carolina.

Behind Barbed Wire: German Prisoner of War Camps in Minnesota
Published in Paperback by North Star Press of St. Cloud, Inc. (June, 1998)
Author: Anita Buck
Average review score:

Little-known facet of World War II history
This is a book about a little known or less remembered phase of World War II history as it relates to Minnesota. It suggets the success of the Geneva Convention regarding treatment of prisoners of war in the United States. In the simple presentation of factual information, the author allows us to feel something of the fears, the loneliness, and concerns of prisoners and their willingness to work rather than be idle. The concerns of citizens are also presented clearly concerning escapes, those of labor unions interested in protecting American labor, as well as the general concern about work necessary to pursue the war. It is a facet of the war that most histories neglect.

A strong cast of characters
In economically depressed Jester, Montana, twelve of the local merchants each chip in a dollar every week for the Big Bucks Multi State Lottery. When one of their numbers hit, they win over $1 million each after taxes.
In this second installment in the Millionaire, Montana series, local veterinarian Jack Hartman is laying the ground work to leave Jester. Five years ago, his wife was died and there are to many painful memories for him in Jester. When Jack becomes one of the lottery winners, he finally has the money to leave town, now he just has to get the local ranchers to see his partner, Melinda Woods, as the competent vet she is and not judge her just because she's a woman. To complicate his life even further, the local single women figure it's time for Jack to come out of mourning for his wife now that he's worth $1 million. When one lady corners Jack in the clinic's exam room, the only way Jack can think of to dissuade her is to tell her he's seeing Melinda. That evening, as Melinda is watching the local news, she learns of her "engagement" to Jack. Since Melinda has had a crush on Jack since she first met him, she agrees to go along with the pretend engagement so the local women will leave him alone. Jack soon finds his feelings for Melinda growing. Melinda is a truly beautiful person who fights hard to win the respect of the local ranchers. Her assortment of quirky pets is delightful.

What a gem!
This story, about the love of a woman for her dog and the true meaning of happiness, should not be missed! It tells the tale of a woman who trades her old dog, Buck, and continues to make better and better trades until she ends up with a mansion. What will her last and best trade be? The rhyming and brief text makes this book appropriate for children of all ages, but would be most meaningful for ages four through twelve. What a wonderful message it conveys!
